Taking its name from the five boroughs of New York (Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island), 5Boro Skateboards was established in 1996 by long-time NYC skateboarder Steve Rodriguez. Today Steve continues to run the brand with friend, and fellow NYC skateboarder, Mark Nardelli.
